Reshape Your Body
Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is an operation to correct all the deformities frequently observed in women after pregnancy or due to weight fluctuations, such as sagging in the abdomen and waist area, increased subcutaneous fatty tissue, stretch marks and separation of the abdominal muscles.
Who Is A Candidate For The Tummy Tuck Surgery?
It is primarily recommended to patients with deformities in the described areas who have been able to reach their ideal weight and maintain it for at least six months. It is preferable that patients do not plan to get pregnant again. It is advised that the patients should wait about 1.5-2 years after the surgery for another pregnancy.
How Is The Procedure Performed?
The sagging part at the lower abdomen is removed, and deformities of the upper abdomen and the waist area are corrected with liposuction. Separated abdominal muscles are repaired and the abdominal skin is pulled downwards.
What Is Mini Tummy Tuck?
It is a technique applied to patients who do not have much excess skin and sagging compared to other patients, but the desired cosmetic result cannot be achieved with only liposuction either. These patients usually have no history of pregnancy.
Tummy Tuck Postoperative care
Patients are discharged within 1-2 days. They can return to their daily lives within the first week. After two weeks, they can start light exercises such as walking. Abdominal compression garment is used up to a month. After the first month, patients may start heavier exercises which do not involve the abdomen area. Heavy exercises involving this area are allowed after 2-3 months.
