What is tear through filler treatment?
Tear through filler treatment is a hyaluronic acid filler which is used to eliminate tear through deformity in the lower
eyelids and to some extent, reduce dark circles around the eye.
Who is a candidate?
In patients with eye bags and tear through, a constantly tired and depressive look is an
usual complaint. In addition to the dark circles around the eyes, the tear through casts a shadow
on the area and cause the darks circle to appear relatively darker. When the tear through is filled
with a suitable filler, this shade is eliminated and the darkness on the lower eyelid is illuminated
with the camouflage effect. Over time, the colour of the eyelid also lightens a little and patients
get a more vibrant and non-depressive look.
How is the procedure performed?
The skin gets cleansed and topical local anaesthetic is applied to the area of injection. The local anaesthetic becomes effective in approximately 30 minutes. Procedure ends after adequate amount of injection is applied to each desired area. As the injected fillers also usually contain local anaesthetic substances, severe pain is not an expected result. The procedure itself takes about 10-15 minutes.
The effect is immediately observed during the procedure, and patients may return to their daily lives right away. For the first few hours, it is recommended to apply ice on the area. Then they proceed with the massage as described. Swelling often disappears within the first day. The effect of fillers lasts up to 6-12 months.
